The Banning Lewis Academy Stallions waltzed into their contest Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They were the clear victor by a 60-34 margin over La Junta. The result was nothing new for Banning Lewis Academy, who have now won three matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Trey Oden, who shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Kobe Welch was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Banning Lewis Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for La Junta, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Banning Lewis Academy will take on Lamar at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lamar has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for La Junta, they will head out on the road to face off against Eaton at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
