The Juniata Valley Hornets are taking a road trip to square off against the Williamsburg Biue Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Juniata Valley has three straight wins, Williamsburg has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Juniata Valley's victory against West Branch wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hornets narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Warriors 13-12.

Juniata Valley let Elijah Johns and Matt Dick run wild. Johns went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Dick went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave Dick a new career-high. Nate Rodkey was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Juniata Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Williamsburg lost 11-1 to Curwensville on Tuesday.
Williamsburg saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jase McCall, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Juniata Valley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Williamsburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Juniata Valley skirted past Williamsburg 4-3 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
