Four teams gained 50 or more points in this week's MaxPreps Computer Rankings for Indiana girls basketball.
The biggest jump was by Elkhart Central, which moved up a whopping 61 points to No. 90 following a pair of impressive victories last week. The Blue Blazers defeated South Bend Adams 64-50 as sophomore point guard Trinitee Harris scored 18 points and 5-5 junior Mady Miller added 14. Adams was No. 73 at the time.
Then the Blue Blazers stunned John Glenn 47-35 as Miller and 5-10 senior Tylar Roberson each scored 11 points and Harris 10 in a balanced attack. John Glenn, which was handed only its second loss, had been ranked No. 35 at the time. Elkhart Central now has a four-game winning streak.
Whiteland was right behind with a 60-point gain. The Warriors posted a huge upset by stunning unbeaten Triton Central 56-39. Sidney Crowe scored 16 points, including 12 of 13 from the free throw line, and 6-2 center Mackenzie Blazek added 13 points to go with 15 rebounds. Triton Central was ranked No. 22 at the time.
Last week Whiteland, which has played a strong schedule, also lost to Martinsville 57-39. Martinsville is No. 39 this week.
