Antelope Valley has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Lancaster Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Antelope Valley pushed their score all the way to 69 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Palmdale by a score of 71-69.
Kiwan Sims put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 26 points. The game was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Deshawn Lewis, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Lancaster was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 60-54 to Littlerock. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lancaster in their matchups with Littlerock: they've now lost four in a row.
Antelope Valley bumped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Lancaster, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Antelope Valley, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 67-52 loss to Lancaster in their previous meeting back in November. Can Antelope Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
