Tri-Valley is 8-0 against Eldred since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Tri-Valley Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eldred Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Tri-Valley beat Liberty by the very same score they won with last week: 48-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Tri-Valley.
Meanwhile, Eldred's seven-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They came out on top against Webutuck by a score of 62-52. Eldred's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Eldred's success was spearheaded by the efforts of James Deyermond, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds, and Trai Kaufmann, who scored 30 points along with nine rebounds and six blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kaufmann has scored at least a third of Eldred's points.
Tri-Valley's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Eldred, their win bumped their record up to 1-5.
Tri-Valley took their victory against Eldred in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 49-28. Does Tri-Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Eldred turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
