Heartland II recap September 10, 2013
Clint Snyder of Hughesville ran for the longest rushing play in Heartland II this season against Bloomsburg last week. Snyder's team lost to the Panthers as he sprinted for 75 yards on the play and finished with 161 in all.
Montoursville moved up to 154 from 222 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Warriors were able to make move up by beating Central Columbia 41-0.
Snyder was the best running back in the league this week. Nick Yeager also contributed to the rushing game with 47 yards on the ground.
Kyle Datres was a passing and rushing force as Loyalsock Township. lost to Danville. He completed 8 passes for 104 yards and also ran for 111 yards. Datres' favorite target this week was Philip Krizan, who caught 6 passes for 89 yards.
Krizan was the best receiver in Heartland II this week as the Lancers lost to the Ironmen.
Zach Wasilewski put up the best numbers through the air as Mount Carmel topped Lewisburg. He finished with a total of 7 completions for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns. Wasilewski's favorite target this week was Treyvon White, who caught 3 passes for 43 yards.
Loyalsock Township.'s Datres and Krizan have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Datres has thrown for 342 yards this season, while Krizan has 13 catches for 184 yards. Montoursville's Cameron Ott leads the league in rushing yards with 316.
The Bluejays are currently in fifth, while Justin Van Fleet's team is in third.
J.C. Keefer's team took down Central Columbia 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ott ran for 103 yards in the win.
