The Randolph Blue Devils lost against the Carver Crusaders back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Randolph was dealt a 47-6 defeat at the hands of Carver. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Randolph in their matchups with Carver: they've now lost eight in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Jadyn Sotomayor, who scored 13 points along with two steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Josie Helms was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Randolph's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-2. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.6 points per game. As for Carver, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Randolph will face off against Blue Hills RVT at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Blue Hills RVT presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Randolph in Massachusetts (Blue Hills RVT is ranked 11th, while Randolph is ranked 68th). Carver's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fairhaven at 6:30 p.m. on January 11th.
