The Bishop Diego Cardinals fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Westlake by a score of 28-21 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bishop Diego also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop Diego to victory, but perhaps none more so than Oscar Mauia, who rushed for 48 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Tua Rojas, who rushed for 31 yards and a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Westlake lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dominic Hunt. Despite the final result, he rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 130 yards and two touchdowns. Hunt was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards.
