Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing's defeat came about despite a quality game from junior Wyatt Wagner, who rushed for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns. One of the most memorable plays of the game was Wagner's 50-yard touchdown rush in the second quarter. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse junior Samuel Jesse, who racked up 16 tackles.
Sophomore Grant Winkelbauer was the offensive standout of the match for St. Mary's, as he rushed for 146 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The loss dropped Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing's record to 2-3. The win bumped St. Mary's' record up to 2-3.
Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing will stay at home next week against Stuart at 7:00 PM. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup. As for St. Mary's, they will face off against Central Valley. These teams both seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins.
