Star Valley has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The Star Valley Braves and the Evanston Devils will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Star Valley will be strutting in after a victory while Evanston will be coming in after a defeat.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Star Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 71-69 win over Soda Springs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Star Valley has posted yet this season.
Emily Dana continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sheridan Coles, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Evanston, who are still winless after their 11th game. They took a 41-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lyman on Friday. Evanston has not had much luck with Lyman recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Star Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. As for Evanston, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.
Star Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Evanston when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 41-28. Does Star Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Evanston turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
