Polson is 9-1 against the Loggers since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Polson Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Libby Loggers at 5:30 p.m. Polson is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Polson was the victim of a rough 61-41 loss at the hands of the Vikings & Valkyries. Polson has struggled against the Vikings & Valkyries recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Cason Graham put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 12 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Henriksen, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Libby's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 11th straight loss. They were outmatched by Columbia Falls at home and fell 69-22. While losing is never fun, Libby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Wildcats are ranked 21st).
Polson has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Libby, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.
Polson didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Loggers in their previous meeting two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 51-46 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Polson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
