Eastern has been on the road for six straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Roosevelt Roughriders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Wednesday, Eastern faced Banneker in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Eastern took a 66-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Banneker. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Roosevelt unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell to Dunbar 54-50.
Eastern has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Roosevelt, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.
Eastern was taken down by Roosevelt 76-43 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Eastern was down 53-26.
