The Evansville Memorial Tigers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 38-8 victory over Evansville Central on the road. Evansville Memorial's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Luke Ellspermann had a dynamite game for Evansville Memorial, rushing for 91 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, while also throwing for 124 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Carson Anslinger made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Evansville Memorial's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Evansville Central, their loss was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10.
Evansville Memorial will head out on the road to face off against Jasper at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Jasper is ranked 55th, while Evansville Memorial is ranked 66th). Evansville Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
