Leechburg hasn't had much luck against Kiski School recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Blue Devils will square off against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Leechburg has ten straight wins, Kiski School has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Leechburg can't be too worried about heading out to take on Kiski School: they just beat Winchester Thurston at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Blue Devils put the hurt on Winchester Thurston with a sharp 15-4 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Blue Devils have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Bertino, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Leechburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Western Reserve Academy hit Kiski School with a four-run seventh inning last Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by just one run.
Kiski School saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wade Collins, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.
Leechburg's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Kiski School, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Kiski School's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Leechburg has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .517. It's a different story for Kiski School, though, as they've only averaged .177. Will they be able to contain Leechburg's hitters?
Leechburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Kiski School in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
