Basketball Recap: Salem Sayers Baptist Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against River City Believers Academy on Friday, Salem Sayers Baptist Academy came back down to earth. Salem Sayers Baptist Academy had to suffer through a 61-27 loss at the hands of the First Baptist Academy Eagles. The contest marked Salem Sayers Baptist Academy's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Salem Sayers Baptist Academy still got an impressive performance from David Jorgensen, who went 5-for-12 en route to 14 points along with six boards and three steals. Jorgensen is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Noah Napier produced another solid effort dropping a double-double with 32 points and 12 rebounds for First Baptist Academy. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Napier has scored at least a third of the Eagles' points. Xaidyn McKennon was another key player, shooting 47% from the field to rack up 17 points and three steals.

Salem Sayers Baptist Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for First Baptist Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Salem Sayers Baptist Academy will host McCauley Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for First Baptist Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Stacey at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
