Softball Recap: Canyon View Wins Going Away Against Providence Hall

Canyon View's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Providence Hall Patriots 19-5. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Maisy Brady spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Canyon View got a massive performance out of Haiden McDonald, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs McDonald has posted over her last 12 matchups. Another player making a difference was Navy King, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Canyon View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Canyon View's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Providence Hall, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Coming up, Canyon View will challenge Altamont at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Providence Hall, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ogden at 3:30 p.m. on April 13.
