The Dawson Springs Panthers came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 66-54 win over Union County. That's two games straight that Dawson Springs has won by exactly 12 points.
Dawson Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rex Blue led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Blue has scored at least 25% of Dawson Springs' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaybird Plunkette, who scored 20 points.
Dawson Springs pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Union County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dawson Springs will be home for the holidays to greet Henderson County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Union County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Crittenden County at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Crittenden County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
