It was a Battle of the Birds when Rocky Mountain Lutheran challenged Briggsdale on Monday. The Eagles never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
Blake Harris made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Rocky Mountain Lutheran: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Borchardt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aidan Maurer, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Dayspring Christian Academy entered their game against Front Range Christian on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Eagles fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 4-3.
Dayspring Christian Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Steward, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Rocky Mountain Lutheran has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-3.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Rocky Mountain Lutheran has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. However, it's not like Dayspring Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .434. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
