Anson is 2-8 against West Stanly since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Anson Bearcats will head out on the road to face off against the West Stanly Colts at 7:30 p.m. Anson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully West Stanly likes a good challenge.
Anson pushed their score all the way to 65 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-65 to Parkwood. Anson has not had much luck with Parkwood recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Anson had strong showings from Jayden Little, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Ryan Robinson, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That was a full 33.8% of Anson's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jaqualin Liles was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Forest Hills scored an imposing 67 points on Monday, West Stanly still came out on top. West Stanly walked away with a 76-67 victory over Forest Hills.
Anson has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for West Stanly, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Anson was taken down by West Stanly 85-47 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Anson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
