The Coconut Creek Cougars will take on the Atlantic Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coconut Creek is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 13-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-25, which was the final score in Coconut Creek's tilt against the Eagles on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Coconut Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 670th, while the Eagles are ranked 219th).
Meanwhile, Atlantic entered their tilt with the Spartans with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Atlantic secured a 63-58 W over the Spartans on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Coconut Creek has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-18 record this season. As for Atlantic, their win bumped their record up to 15-10.
Coconut Creek couldn't quite finish off the Eagles in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 and fell 58-56. Can Coconut Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
