Wauneta-Palisade didn't have too much trouble with Medicine Valley on Friday as they won 36-16.
Wauneta-Palisade's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 16 points in the first half. Medicine Valley came up with 8 to make it 16-8 heading into the break. The offense for Wauneta-Palisade continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 20 points to put the game away.
Wauneta-Palisade's success was spearheaded by the efforts of senior Dalton Harchelroad, who rushed for 121 yards and 1 touchdown, and junior Austen Rozelle, who rushed for 84 yards and 1 touchdown. In fact, with 12 tackles Harchelroad was a force on both sides of the ball. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Caid Doetker, who racked up 12 tackles. The victory bumped Wauneta-Palisade's record up to 3-0. The loss dropped Medicine Valley's record to 2-1.
Wauneta-Palisade will have some time to rest before their next matchup, which is against Paxton at 6:00 MT/7:00 CT in two weeks. Medicine Valley will look to defend their home turf against Maxwell at 7:00 PM.
