After flying high against the LaGrange Gators on Saturday, the Fort Bend Willowridge Eagles came back down to earth. Fort Bend Willowridge had to suffer through a rough 85-52 loss at the hands of Silsbee. Fort Bend Willowridge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-22.
When it comes to explaining why Fort Bend Willowridge lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Henry Eze. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Eze continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kaden Davis, who scored 16 points.
Silsbee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Troy Rice, who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 blocks. Jared Harris was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with 4 steals.
Fort Bend Willowridge's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Silsbee, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-5.
