Given Alexandria City's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Robinson is ranked 235th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Alexandria City to victory were Kye Robinson and Darius Bivins. Robinson scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, while Bivins scored 15 points along with six assists and six steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Robinson has scored at least 25% of Alexandria City's points. Another player making a difference was Macodou Ndao, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Alexandria City pushed their record up to 7-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Robinson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
Alexandria City will head out on the road to face off against West Potomac at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. West Potomac has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests. As for Robinson, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Fairfax at 7:30 p.m.
