Softball Recap: Brookhaven Has No Trouble Against Bogue Chitto

While Brookhaven put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Bogue Chitto. The Brookhaven Panthers blew past the Bogue Chitto Bobcats 12-0. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 12 runs or more this season.

Anna Kaitlyn Dooley made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. The dominant performance gave her a new career-low in hits. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Brookhaven got a big performance out of Journi Hunt, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Mia Lee, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Brookhaven always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bogue Chitto only posted an OBP of .214.

Brookhaven is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. Bogue Chitto now has a losing record of 5-6-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Brookhaven Panthers challenge Salem Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brookhaven is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season. As for Bogue Chitto, they will take on Enterprise at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Enterprise also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 7.4 runs per game.
