The Loomis Chaffee School Pelicans are taking a road trip to  challenge Ethel Walker  at 1:30  p.m.  on Saturday. Loomis Chaffee School will be strutting in after a  victory while Ethel Walker will be coming in after a  loss.
On Thursday, Loomis Chaffee School made easy work of Westminster School  and carried off  a  14-4 win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Pelicans.
 Violet Peverly was a  major factor no matter where she played. She  struck out 12 batters over  six innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off only  one  hit. Peverly was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Bella Cardona was  excellent,  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances with three  runs and one  stolen base. Another player making a difference was  Jessica Chieco, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
Meanwhile, Ethel Walker fought the good fight in their extra-innings  matchup against Cheshire Academy  on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell  9-5 to the Cats. Ethel Walker's defeat continues a  trend for the  team, making it four in a row dating back to last season.
Like Loomis Chaffee School, Ethel Walker also got a great game from a two-way player:  Ayden Riendeau. On the mound, she  struck out 11 batters over  nine innings while giving up just one earned  (and six unearned) runs off   11  hits. Riendeau was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Emily Sanchez was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 4-for-5 with three  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  double.
 Ethel Walker's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Loomis Chaffee School, they now  have a winning record of 2-1.
Ethel Walker's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Loomis Chaffee School hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .337. It's a different story for Ethel Walker, though, as  they've  only  averaged .228. Will they be able to contain Loomis Chaffee School's hitters?
 Loomis Chaffee School might still be hurting after the  16-0 defeat they got from Ethel Walker  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2019. Can the Pelicans avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
