After soaring to 58 points the game before, the Spring Valley Grizzlies were a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They were dealt a 60-24 defeat at the hands of Liberty. Spring Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-9.
Spring Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brie Ruiz, who scored seven points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Charolette Delisle, who scored six points.
Lillian Hastings had an outrageously good game for Liberty as she scored five points along with 33 steals and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Satsuki Bradley, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Spring Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Liberty, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-7.
Spring Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Coronado focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday. As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to take on the Crusaders at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Faith Lutheran is ranked 15th, while the Patriots are ranked sixth).
