Baseball Recap: Camden Extends Winning Streak to Three

Camden extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 16-11 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the York Cougars. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-0 win back in March.

Cade Marturano tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Camden's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Zechariah Haney, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

As for York, they now have a losing record of 12-13. They just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

On York's side, Larson Montgomery was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Montgomery has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one double.

Camden will challenge A.C. Flora at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. York does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
