It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 58-57 photo finish over East. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Bishop Carroll's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landon Stevens led the charge by scoring 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stevens has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of John Hauserman, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Bishop Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for East, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Carroll is on the road again on Friday and plays the Grizzlies at 7:15 p.m. on February 2nd. Northwest will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for East, they will head out on the road to square off against the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Heights has 13 straight wins, the Aces have three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
