Make it eight blowout wins for the Peoria Panthers this season. They blew past Goldwater 63-14 on the road. Given Peoria's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Goldwater is ranked 236th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Peoria's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cieraka Lynch led the charge by dropping a triple-double on 17 points, 12 rebounds, and ten steals. Lynch hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Michelle Kogbara was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds.
Peoria has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Goldwater, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peoria will challenge Agua Fria at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Goldwater, they will head out on the road to face off against Estrella Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Estrella Foothills will be looking to keep their 15-game home win streak alive.
