Dylan Durfee and Easton Aalbu did most of the damage at the plate: Durfee went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Aalbu went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Durfee has become a key player for Arlington: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mountlake Terrace, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Snohomish on Friday as they made off with an 8-2 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hawks as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Jack Gripentrog made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Owen Meek, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Cian Harney also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Arlington's record is now 5-9. As for Mountlake Terrace, their record now sits at an identical 5-9.
Arlington came up short against Mountlake Terrace when the teams last played back in April of 2025, falling 6-3. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
