Liberty Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chase Garnett led the charge by rushing for 124 yards and three touchdowns. Garnett is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Welliver, who threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Southwest Christian School's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 53-0 loss at the hands of All S. While losing is never fun, Southwest Christian School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 591st, while All S is ranked 179th).
Liberty Christian's victory lifted them to 7-0 while Southwest Christian School's defeat dropped them down to 5-2.
