Chaparral is a perfect 3-0 against Bear Creek since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Wolverines will square off against the Bears at 11:00 a.m. Chaparral is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Chaparral is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since April 21, 2025 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Fairview.

Beckett Bacon made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 6.1 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Carter Adams was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Bear Creek had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came out on top against the Red Wolves by a score of 6-2. While the Bears didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Like Chaparral, Bear Creek also got a great game from a two-way player: Brandon Adams-Anders. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Adams-Anders has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Bear Creek got a big performance out of Logan Cortez, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ethan Huntley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Bear Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Loveland only posted an OBP of .276.
Chaparral's record now sits at 7-4. As for Bear Creek, their record is now 6-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Chaparral has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bear Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Chaparral skirted past Bear Creek 5-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
