The University Hawks will take on the Washington Patriots at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Washington will be up against a hot University squad: the team just extended their winning streak to eight. The Hawks put the hurt on Keyser with a sharp 7-1 victory on Thursday.

Maddie Campbell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, University let Whitney Cox and Maddie Walls run wild. Cox went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Walls went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Walls has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Shaver, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Washington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on May 14th. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Musselman a 10-0 shutout two weeks ago. The high-scoring effort was just what the Patriots needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Kenzie O'Hara was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. O'Hara was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Addi Musser was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Kylie Benner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.
Washington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Washington's win bumped their record up to 16-8. As for University, their victory bumped their record up to 25-5.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. University hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Washington struggles in that department as they've averaged .321. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went University's way against Washington when the teams last played on May 14th, as University made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
