The Lawrence Upper Lions were the 44-37 winner over the Open Door Christian Patriots when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Lawrence Upper was outmatched by Open Door Christian on the road and fell 44-11. Lawrence Upper has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Lawrence Upper saw an underclassman step up: Nohla Marbley scored 8 points. Marbley scored a full 72.7% of Lawrence Upper's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Lawrence Upper now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Open Door Christian, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lawrence Upper's road trip will continue as they head out to face St. Martin de Porres at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th. Hopefully St. Martin de Porres focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday. As for Open Door Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Oberlin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Oberlin is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
