The Casa Grande Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 70-16 loss at the hands of Notre Dame Prep. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Casa Grande has scored all season.
Casa Grande's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Capri Morales, who scored six points, and Milani Gonzales who scored no points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Notre Dame Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ayla Keefe, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Keefe has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Lily Mccracken was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Casa Grande's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Notre Dame Prep, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.
Casa Grande will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Paradise Valley at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Paradise Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Tuesday. As for Notre Dame Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against Mountain Pointe at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Pointe is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
