The Parklane Academy Pioneers will head out on the road to face off against the Jackson Prep Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Parklane Academy is ranked 71st, while Jackson Prep is ranked 95th).
Parklane Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 26 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 45-17 win over Clinton Christian Academy on the road. With Parklane Academy ahead 32-5 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Parklane Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zoe Alford led the charge by scoring 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlyle Carruth, who scored 9 points.
Meanwhile, everything went Jackson Prep's way against Cathedral on Saturday as Jackson Prep made off with a 49-24 win. The win was just what Jackson Prep needed coming off of a 56-32 loss in their prior match.
The losses dropped Parklane Academy to 5-4 and Clinton Christian Academy to 3-5.
Parklane Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Jackson Prep in their previous meeting back in February, winning 49-41. Does Parklane Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jackson Prep turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
