The New Auburn Trojans pushed their score all the way to 61 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 87-61 defeat at the hands of Winter. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (55), New Auburn still had to take the loss.
Winter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Adam Bednorski led the charge by scoring 27 points along with five assists and five steals. Gunnar Greuel was another key contributor, almost dropping a triple-double on 14 points, 23 rebounds, and nine assists.
New Auburn's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Winter, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Auburn will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Prairie Farm at 5:45 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Winter will finish 2023 at home by hosting Butternut at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
