After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Staunton/Bunker Hill, North Mac was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 49-34 victory over the Southwestern Piasa Birds. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
North Mac had a senior duo take command as Kadin Casey gained 161 total yards and a touchdown and Kevin Bricker picked up 164 receiving yards and one TD. Casey's longest reception was for an incredible 94 yards.
North Mac didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Southwestern to a completion percentage of just 44.4%. The Panthers weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 73.7%.
Southwestern's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jerion Holoman, who rushed for 89 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries. Cason Robinson also helped out with an impressive 105 receiving yards.

North Mac's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Southwestern, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.
