There's no place like home for the Sweeny Bulldogs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They snuck past Varsity Opponent with a 35-30 win on Tuesday. The victory was just what Sweeny needed coming off of a 43-19 loss in their prior matchup.
Among those leading the charge was Alyssa Fitts, who scored 12 points. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Shaylee Robinson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Sweeny pushed their record up to 16-7 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Varsity Opponent, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 65-249-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sweeny will take on Bay City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to face off against Grundy County/Newtown-Harris at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Grundy County/Newtown-Harris focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Friday.
