After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Farmington, Cuba/Spoon River Valley was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Rushville-Industry Rockets with a sharp 20-1 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.
Kacie White was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joley McLaughlin, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Abbie Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
