Marana is 8-2 against Catalina Foothills since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Marana Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Catalina Foothills Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Marana focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Monday.
Marana couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 57-45 to Cienega. Marana has struggled against Cienega recently, as their contest on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kameran Coto, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelynne Hendrickson, who scored 14 points.
Even though they lost, Marana were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cienega only pulled down seven.
Meanwhile, Catalina Foothills' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 56-42 bruising from Higley.
Marana's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Catalina Foothills, they have fallen quite a ways from their 24-6 record last season and are now at 1-4.
Marana was dealt a bruising 61-30 defeat at the hands of Catalina Foothills in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Marana, Reilly Clark (who shot 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 30 points and 10 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
