The Lakeside Dragons are taking a road trip to take on the Madison Blue Streaks at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lakeside was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cardinal, sneaking past 2-0.

Not much got past Gage Tome, who gave up just two hits to keep Cardinal off the board. Tome also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lakeside is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-9 otherwise.
At the plate, Lakeside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Wagner, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Tanner Noble also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Madison waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Spartans 12-1. Considering the Blue Streaks have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Landon Tomco made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Tomco was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Eddy Gvora and Brendan Titman did most of the damage at the plate: Gvora went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Titman got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave Titman a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Evan Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Madison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Conneaut only posted an OBP of .364.
Lakeside has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Madison, their record now sits at 11-3.
Lakeside might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Madison in their previous meeting on Wednesday. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
