The Woodlake Tigers lost against the Del Oro Sun last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Woodlake had to suffer through a rough 65-36 loss at the hands of Del Oro.
When it comes to explaining why Woodlake lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hugo Cruz. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points. Cruz scored a full 55.6% of Woodlake's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Matthew Ruiz, who scored nine points.
Woodlake's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-4. As for Del Oro, their win bumped their record up to 3-11.
Woodlake won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Orange Cove at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Orange Cove is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. Del Oro will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Stockdale at 5:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
