The Andrews Yellowjackets can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Lee Central by a score of 38-31. The score was all tied up 16-16 at the break, but Andrews was the better team in the second half.
Andrews' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Vincent Rhue led the charge by scoring ten points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayevon McNair, who scored four points along with two steals and two blocks.
Despite the loss, Lee Central still got an impressive performance from Demarius Gregg, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Andrews' victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Lee Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Andrews will stay at home for another game and welcome Marion at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Lee Central will take on Kingstree at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Kingstree is ranked 139th, while Lee Central is ranked 149th).
