The Colmesneil Bulldogs will be home for the holidays to greet the Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-13, which was the final score in Colmesneil's tilt against West Sabine on Friday. While losing is never fun, Colmesneil can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1541st, while West Sabine is ranked 479th).
Meanwhile, Corrigan-Camden's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Grapeland, falling 48-6. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Corrigan-Camden has scored all season.
Colmesneil's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.4 points per game. As for Corrigan-Camden, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.
Colmesneil barely slipped by Corrigan-Camden when the teams last played last Saturday, winning 28-27. Will Colmesneil repeat their success, or does Corrigan-Camden have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
