Basketball Recap: Pearsall Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pearsall posted their closest win since November 26, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past the Pleasanton Eagles 62-59. Winning may never get old, but the Mavericks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Pearsall had a senior duo take command as Xavier Rendon dropped a double-double on 24 points and 20 boards and Marcus Woodard went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Rendon has scored at least a third of Pearsall's points.

Pearsall smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Pearsall is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for Pleasanton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.

Pearsall will square off against Devine at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pearsall knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Devine likes a good challenge. As for Pleasanton, they will face off against Floresville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
