The Martinsville Bluestreaks will head out on the road to face off against the Patoka Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Martinsville is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Last Thursday, Martinsville earned a 53-40 win over Dugger Union. The win was just what Martinsville needed coming off of a 63-37 defeat in their prior contest.
Adam Parcel was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Martinsville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Simons, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Patoka pushed their score all the way to 61 last Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to North Clay at home by a decisive 78-61 margin.
Martinsville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-17 record this season. As for Patoka, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Martinsville against Patoka in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 69-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Martinsville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
