The Richland Colts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 76-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lisbon. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Colts players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Casyn Syvertsen, who scored 19 points. Syvertsen scored a full 29.7% of Richland's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Nick Mjoness, who scored 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Richland were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Richland has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Lisbon, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Richland won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hankinson at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Hankinson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 184 points over their last three contests. As for Lisbon, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Kindred at 7:30 p.m. Kindred is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
