The Belton-Honea Path Bears lost against the Powdersville Patriots back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Belton-Honea Path suffered a rough 49-24 defeat at the hands of Powdersville. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Belton-Honea Path has scored all season.
Powdersville was led to victory by Makayla Assemian and Ella Davidson. Assemian dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Davidson dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was Davidson's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Leandra Lawson, who scored five points along with ten rebounds.
Belton-Honea Path's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-8. As for Powdersville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season.
Belton-Honea Path will be playing at home against Palmetto at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Powdersville will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Fountain Inn at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. Hopefully Fountain Inn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
