First Baptist extended the longest winning streak in Lowcountry-Piedmont (8 Man) this week by beating Charleston Collegiate, 60-52. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Coastal HomeSchool took down Greater Augusta Independent School 42-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jordan Brown ran for 151 yards and caught one passes for seven yards in the win.
First Baptist's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Trent Keisler threw for 146 and four touchdowns and Bradford Allen had 133 yards receiving. On the ground Trevor McNeil chipped in 203 yards. Jackson Murray helped First Baptist's passing attack out by catching one ball for seven yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Gunnar Gibson of the Hurricanes is the league leader in passing yards this season with 659. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, Will McCombs's team's Alex Frazier has rushed for 1241 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Allen. The First Baptist star has 14 catches for 368 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Coastal HomeSchool and Fountain Inn Christian. The Hurricanes enters the game ranked seventh in the state, while Fountain Inn Christian ranks fifth.
The Hurricanes led Lowcountry-Piedmont (8 Man) in scoring this week after putting up 60 points on Charleston Collegiate. Keisler ran for 22 yards in the win.
